Here we go... :)

Many people like to wear hats for lots of reason, such as safety, fashion and may be religion too. Actually, people prefer to wear hats for fashion at these days. However, when we looked at the history of hats, process of using hats is different from now :)

Ok, just see this process... " Hat was what, and now, what happened to it?"  In the past, hats were an indicator of social statues. In the military, they may denote nationality, branch of service, rank and/or regiment. When we bask then, people worn hats for protection against the elements. Especially, in ancient times such as Greek, Rome and Egyptian times, hats were worn to show rank, but when we come to 14th or 15th century purpose of wearing hats changed. Fashion became the most important aim for wearing them. Silk, velvet, taffeta, leather, felt and beaver were the materials of hats at old times. At now, of course, their materials changed according to usage. Although over the years many different hats have came out, but there are still two basic styles, brimless and brimmed and two basic forms, caps and hats. Moreover, there are also lots of hats style:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hat#Hat_styles
